Yun-Kyung Jeong Studio Visit

We are pleased to invite you to join us for a special studio visit with artist Yun-Kyung Jeong.
This is a chance to see new work by Jeong whose solo exhibition at the gallery in May 2011 received coverage with the Independent, the BBC, the Big Issue and the Financial Times.

Jeong’s paintings are best understood as representations of utopia; repetition and space are her play things in these worlds. Constructed from the duplication of a single recognisable motif, her canvases are teaming with shapes and structures that seem to move or flow over one another creating impossible spaces in a manner akin to Escher. Whether in collision or cohesion, Jeong’s work is also bound up with the meeting of opposites –  in her paintings architecture meets nature as East meets West.
Saturday 18th February / 1.45pm / ASC Studios, Erlang House, Blackfriars Road, London SE1 8EQ (nearest tubes: Southwark, Elephant & Castle, Lambeth North)
